Professional Italian Translation for Product Labels
Health and weight loss products are booming across the globe, especially in the U.S. (because we have the most fat people, compared to the entire rest of the world). However, distribution of weight loss products exported from the US, as well as health and weight loss products created and exported to the US market - all demand professional translation services. It is important to ensure all labels for these types of products are accurately translated, due to federal regulations about the distribution and sale of weight loss and nutrition products not evaluated by the F.D.A. Label translation is a service we often provide to our clients, but have recently seen a huge growth in weight loss and nutrition product label translation demands.
A recent weight loss/health product label was submitted to us by an Italian client of ours, with focus on Italian to English translation. The professional Italian translation included ingredients, product consumption directions, weight of product and serving size, and most importantly, nutritional information and the breakdown of serving size nutrition facts, which are required to be on all food and drink products sold in US markets.
This may sound like a document translation that would be relatively simple. However, a detailed product label translation such as the one for this health and weight loss product can present language translation challenges. For instance, the translators must translate all units of measurements from European to American units. Localization must be applied as well, due to various differences in label contents, and contents that are required for sale in the US that may not be included in the original. Beyond that, there are even more challenging terms that would require translators with experience in product label translations, such as "sodium bicarbonate (which may have another term in Italian) and even more technical nutritional terms, such as "lyophilized drinks," "glycosides," and "lactic ferments." You don't normally think about nutritional facts on the back of a drink or a health bar as being a technical translation - but they can be just as technical as a legal translation or a medical document translation.
Technical Translations Need Skillful Translators
This is why it is so important to have a reliable, trustworthy and experienced professional translation service to turn to. Our translators are trained in all different areas of expertise and specialized fields, so that when something like a technical product label translation demands very specific translation skills and experience - we have precisely the translators for the job.
In all my years here, I have never seen a client turned away because the job was too technical, too long, too complex, or because it required experience or skills our translators do not have. As amazing as it may seem, we always have the perfect translators for every project brought to us: whether its Italian to English translation of a product label, professional Hebrew translation of legal documents or a Russian translation of video game dialogue. It really is an impressive fact.
