English to French course guide translation with desktop publishing
MAY 22, 2016
A regular client with offices spread across Europe recently asked Tomedes to undertake the translation of a course guide from English to French. As well as the translation, the client requested our desktop publishing service, so that the translated French version would look the same as the original.
Our desktop publishing team is on hand to handle requests just such as this. They ensure accurate preservation of the document’s original formatting, even when the target language is much wordier than the original language (check out our Word Count Ratio tool to see how much variety there is between different languages when it comes to the number of words it takes to express things).
For this regular client, we knew that time was of the essence, so our leading French educational materials translator got to work straight away. Her background as a language teacher meant that she was perfectly positioned to undertake this translation of a course book designed to educate and inspire adult learners.
The translation was completed well ahead of time and the client was pleased to be able to put the document to work straight away. She has already advised that a further translation of it will be required, in order to ensure that the companies employees in various European countries all benefit from the same training opportunities, no matter where they are based.
