Hebrew to English Biography Translation

At Tomedes, we often receive invitations to translate longer documents, and providing full translations of personal biographies or memoirs is a relatively common request. Our translation company has a range of professional translators who possess native-speaking ability and experience of working with authors who produce bibliographical material. Moreover, our translators work hard to ensure that the same tone of voice that the author uses is accurately conveyed throughout the translation — a skill only the most professional translators have.
Recently, we had a new client contact us to request a translation of a recently-written biography. The client represented his grandfather, who had just finished compiling his memoirs in Hebrew. The biography was extraordinary, and detailed the life of this amazing man as he lived through some of the horrors of the Second World War. It was a privilege to help translate this person's story, making it available to a wider readership whilst providing a sobering reminder of the cost of war.
We assigned one of our very best native-speaking translators to the task, and he worked through the biography with meticulous attention to detail, helping to produce an accurate English translation of the Hebrew memoirs. The biography had a large number of extensive chapters, and our professional translator worked hard to ensure that both the tone and manner in which the author wrote the text was preserved in the resulting translation.
When the English translation was completed, it was quickly returned to the client, allowing him to present the good news to his grandfather and inform him that his story was ready to be told to a wider audience.
