Nepali to English staff handbook translation
NOV 20, 2016
A regular client recently asked Tomedes to translate his entire staff handbook from Nepali to English. The weighty document ran to nearly 200 pages, including company policies, forms to book leave and all sorts of operational procedures.
We have already undertaken some marketing translation on before of this client. He had been impressed by the speed and accuracy of the Tomedes translation service during our past assignments.
The company handbook was a substantial undertaking. We turned to our best Nepali Bhasa to English translator to undertake the work. Based in Birmingham, she had undertaken plenty of translations for us on previous occasions and was adept at translating complex policy documents – we knew she was the ideal translator for this job!
The client was in no rush for his translation and appreciated that this size of job takes some time. However, we saw that as no reason to delay! Our Nepali translator got straight to work. Her thorough, diligent manner was perfectly suited to such an extensive job and she worked hard to set a good pace of progress as she tackled each section of the company handbook in turn.
Business translation of this nature is an important piece of work. It enables companies to build staff teams around the world, basing their hiring decisions on the best talent available across the globe, rather than being limited to choosing from a single country’s workers. It allows companies to expand their operations in the areas that are most important to them swiftly and easily, by ensuring that staff in all locations are working to the same principles and adhering to the same policies. Using professional human translators rather than machine translation helps to avoid any misunderstandings and delays arising from poor quality machine translation!
This client was pleasantly surprised by the speed with which we translated his extensive staff handbook. He was able to roll it out to his English-speaking staff sooner than he had expected and therefore bring forward the end date of his project.
