Translating a book is a large undertaking, but with a network for more than 5,000 professional human translators spread around the world, Tomedes is more than up to the challenge.
A client recently asked us to translate his latest book from English to Mongolian, as he felt the subject matter would particularly resonate with the 10 million or so Mongolian speakers around the world. The quality of the translation was extremely important to him, hence his selecting Tomedes to undertake the work.
We discussed the project with our leading Mongolian translator in order to ensure that she would be able to complete the translation on time. Forward planning is important for a project of this size, as it requires a translator to work almost fulltime on the book until the translation has been completed. Our translator understood that and was able to balance her existing workload carefully with this huge new project, in order to ensure that the client’s deadline would be met.
The translation went well and we updated the client at the end of every week as to the progress that had been made. He was pleased to receive such regular updates, which served to reassure him that the work would be completed on time.
Our Mongolian translator worked in partnership with our desktop publishing team in order to typeset the book as part of this job. The client had been very specific about his formatting requirements and we were pleased to be able to produce the Mongolian version to his exacting standards.
