We are seeking a skilled freelance Papiamento to English translator for remote translation services. This role involves delivering accurate and culturally appropriate translations between Papiamento and English for various content types while maintaining clarity, consistency, and linguistic precision. Papiamento is widely spoken in the Dutch Caribbean and blends influences from Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch, and African languages, making linguistic expertise essential.

Job Description:

• Translate written content from Papiamento to English and English to Papiamento with high accuracy.
• Ensure that translations preserve the original meaning, tone, and cultural context.
• Review and edit translated materials for quality, consistency, and correctness.
• Adapt translations based on client requirements and target audience.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to meet deadlines and expectations.
• Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive or proprietary information.

Requirements:

• Fluency in both Papiamento and English, with native-level proficiency in at least one language.
• Proven experience in translation (1–3 years preferred).
• Strong understanding of grammar, syntax, and cultural nuances in both languages.
• Familiarity with CAT tools or translation software is a plus.
• Ability to work remotely and deliver high-quality translations within deadlines.
