English to Spanish iPhone application translation
NOV 25, 2015
By March 2015, Apple had sold 700 million iPhones around the world, according to CEO Tim Cook. It is perhaps unsurprising, therefore, that app creators often want their apps to be available in multiple languages, in order to reach out to as much of Apple’s huge user base as possible.
Tomedes often undertakes the translation of iPhone applications and understands the importance of localization services as part of this service. Most recently, we undertook the translation of an iPhone app from English to Spanish. With 470 million native speakers and 90 million people speaking Spanish as a second language, the logic of producing a Spanish version of an app really doesn’t require explanation!
Tomedes uses native Spanish translators in Spain and in numerous countries in South America in order to provide flawless Spanish translation services. We always seek to use native translators as this ensures a much more accurate translation and also takes account of local phrases and idioms.
The client had set a two day deadline for the translation of his iPhone app, as he was keen to make it available to the world as soon as possible. This wasn’t a problem for Tomedes – we are used to working to strict deadlines in order to accommodate our clients’ needs.
We set our best Spanish translator, based in Lima, Peru to work on the translation. By maintaining a network of translators around the world, we ensure that clients’ translations can be started straight away, regardless of the time of day or night that they are received.
The client was delighted to receive his fully translated iPhone app back in just a day and a half – well within his deadline.
