What Is It About?
The first annual conference of the newly formed Philosophy of Language Association will take place online and remotely.
The goal of the conference, and of the association in general, is to provide a venue for philosophers of language to discuss new work in all areas of the field.
Ultimately, the PLA seeks to make each annual meeting (hopefully held in person in future years) provide a reasonably comprehensive snapshot of the research being done in language philosophy.
What Can You Expect?
The Association encourages submissions from philosophers who work in the philosophy of language, broadly construed.
They particularly want to encourage submissions from women, LGBTQ+ and members of other groups that have been previously underrepresented in the field of language philosophy.
Scheduled keynote speakers will include:
The schedule of this conference will be arranged so that people from as many parts of the world as possible can attend as many of the talks as possible.
The conference will have presentations of papers lasting one hour, split between the talk and then the question and answer session, with 3 selected papers presented on each day of the conference.
