It’s easier than ever for Android developers to appeal to a worldwide audience
App developers worldwide were excited to learn Google Play now makes it easier for app developers to translate their apps into various languages with the help of global translation providers, such as Tomedes.com.
The launch of the new localization tool took place at Google I/O, Google’s annual developer conference taking place this week in San Francisco.
The new tool, which offers easy connection to translation providers such as Tomedes.com directly through the Google Play Developer Console, offers a solution for the many Android developers worldwide looking to connect with audiences who are not English speakers. Indeed, the vast majority of apps available today are in English. Google Play offers a way to localize android apps into key languages, opening a door to a greater worldwide audience.
Currently there are over 700,000 apps available on Google Play. With the added ability to localize and translate their apps, app developers will likely see significantly higher download rates on a global scale.
Only a handful of the top translation companies worldwide were selected to be a part of this localization platform.
Ofer Tirosh, CEO of the translation company Tomedes (www.tomedes.com) recently commented, “We’re proud to offer our services directly through the Google Play Developer Console. We know the importance for app developers to be able to translate their apps into other languages and we’re excited to be a part of that process.”
Tirosh followed up by saying, “We believe in this platform 100%, and I believe we were chosen to come onboard not only because of our professional translators but thanks to our tech oriented approach to the translation industry.”
