The Japanese Association of Translators (JAT), it has been around since 1985, it is a not for profit organization that deals with networking of translators and matters related to translation between English and Japanese. They also aim to further the industry in general by conducting conferences such as the IJET (International Japanese-English Translation Conference) and by maintaining a high professional standard among its affiliates. 

This conference is the 30th of its kind, and is the foremost event of JAT that deals with the growth and the networking of translators on the professional level. With the theme Life, Style and Translation, the event will be a plethora of artistry, given the beauty the Japanese associate with their language, especially their writings.

The event will be held in Cairns, Far North Queensland, Australia on 28th to the 30th of June. Cairns, being the doorway to the largest coral reef system in the world and one of the seven natural wonders of the world, a catharsis from life's worries is definitely at hand after a glimpse of the exquisite wonder of nature.

The translation conference will cover various topics on translation, from life changing experiences to math in translation, this event will certainly be one an amusing way to obtain knowledge and connections in the translation world. The event also pays homage to its hosts, by tackling interpretation for Aboriginal Australians.
