Sindhi language is the primary language used in Sindh region of Pakistan. It is an Indo-Aryan language with significant Dravidian influences. Sindhi language has almost 18 million speakers in Pakistan, and about 1 million speakers in India. - The language uses 16 vowels and 46 consonant phonemes.
- Sindhi language is blessed with a huge vocabulary as well as a literary tradition which goes back many centuries into the past.
- The Sindhi vocabulary has loan words from Sanskrit, Arabic, Persian, English, Hindi and Urdu. In Pakistan it has been greatly influenced by Urdu, and in India by Hindi.
