Abkhazian or Abkhaz is one of the Northwest Caucasian languages which is spoken primarily by the Abkhaz people. It serves as the official language of Abkhazia and is spoken by roughly 100,000 people in the country. • Abkhazian has been written using a variety of scripts including Arabic, Georgian and Cyrillic. At present it uses an alphabet adapted from Cyrillic.
